Excelus Launches New Quick Turn Prototyping Service and Expanded Capacity

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Excelus Manufacturing Solutions (“Excelus”), a leading precision machining supplier to the Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Semiconductor & Industrial industries, is excited to announce the launch of a new Quick Turn Prototyping Service offering lead times in as little as 2 days in complex geometries, tight tolerances (down to 0.0002”) and difficult materials (plastics, aluminum & steels, through Titanium, Inconel, Monel, Invar, Kovar & other nickel-alloys).

“We continue to hear that there is a need for a Quick Turn Prototyping Service from a company with deep expertise in mission-critical end markets”

Excelus brings its expertise supporting some of the most demanding industries in the world, for some of the top OEMs & Prime Contractors, on large scale development projects, to the Quick Turn Prototyping arena targeting key NPI, R&D and LRIP projects.

Where most Quick Turn Prototyping companies are focused on a cookie cutter approach, Excelus is building on its vast and diverse experience to deliver a bespoke, high-touch, custom product for our customers.

“We continue to hear that there is a need for a Quick Turn Prototyping Service from a company with deep expertise in mission-critical end markets,” said Mike Burke, CEO of Excelus. “What works for a Quick Turn aluminum part with wide tolerances will not stand up to the demands of a complex, tight tolerance, aerospace application. We’re building on our decades of experience supporting some of the top programs across A&D, Medical & Semi to the Prototyping world. Oftentimes engineers have to search for another company to support a project moving beyond the R&D/NPI phase as Prototyping incumbents aren’t set up to handle large scale production runs. Excelus will now fill that void offering a one-stop-shop providing a turn-key solution from Prototype to Production.”

Additionally, Excelus is planning to expand its capacity in a new 50,000 sq ft facility later this year offering dedicated resources for growth to our customers.

We are incredibly excited about this next phase in our journey and welcome any interested parties to reach out to our team members below or send us a note at [email protected].

Sky Peak Capital Announces the Acquisition of Jarvis Machine

Sky Peak Capital Announces the Acquisition of Jarvis Machine

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sky Peak Capital (“Sky Peak”), a founder-focused, operationally-driven private equity firm, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Jarvis Machine (“Jarvis”), a leading supplier of precision machining services to the industrial, defense, photonics, firearms and pneumatics industries.

“We’re excited to partner with Sky Peak to continue to bring our customers best-in-class service offerings while expanding capabilities and building on our already top-notch team”

Jarvis represents the first acquisition in Sky Peak’s manufacturing platform, targeting founder-led, small-to-medium sized manufacturing businesses in highly fragmented markets with substantial scalability.

After making a strategic growth investment in February 2021, Sky Peak recently exercised its option to purchase the entirety of Jarvis, delivering value to the founder, Duane Jarvis, as well as certainty and commitment to Jarvis’ employees, customers and broader stakeholders. While Sky Peak will primarily target control transactions, its flexible mandate provides the ability to structure creative capital solutions.

Founded in 2009, Jarvis is a leading supplier of custom precision machining capabilities in the lower middle market. Backed by an industry leading team of programmers, machinists and engineers, Jarvis targets complex geometries in difficult materials and provides a personalized, tailored solution to its customers.

“We’re excited to partner with Sky Peak to continue to bring our customers best-in-class service offerings while expanding capabilities and building on our already top-notch team,” said Cedric Gaudette, General Manager of Jarvis.

“Jarvis has built a fantastic customer base and reputation over more than a decade and we’re excited to continue to help their great business thrive,” said Mike Burke, Managing Partner at Sky Peak.

Burke added, “We’re increasingly seeing an M&A imbalance in US manufacturing, particularly in the lower middle market, with a substantial number of original owners looking to retire. Coupled with significant overall demand and reshoring efforts, we’re incredibly excited about the opportunities to partner with additional, high-quality founder-led businesses in the industry. In fact, we’re currently in discussions with several others that would represent excellent additions to the platform.”

Sky Peak was advised by BakerHostetler and Gallagher, Flynn & Co.
